One of the priorities before the winter is to insulate the main floor. As the floors above will not be insulated at the start of this winter, it was decided to separate the main floor from the rest of the house. The first thing that greets you as you enter at the moment is that the insulation department of Revy and Home Depot have been moved to Passage Island!

Having squeezed past all the insulation, the first thing you come to are the doors to and from the main floor. Later the connection between these two doors in the stairwell itself will be completed, allowing one to go all the way to the top of the house without entering the main floor. The walls to the right and left of the stairwell already have insulation added, although this photo does not show this.

Most of the main floor is now insulated. The first two photos show the dinning area. The kitchen, shown in the following photo, requires the ceiling to be insulated. The only other area not insulated as of November 3 is the office area. Perhaps this is hardly surprising as the occupant of this area likes it to be cool! The insulation below the second floor deck is being insulated with different insulation as this section of the ceiling is exposed to the outside air. At the end of the day it was not quite finished as one extra sheet of insulation was required.
